As a member of the SEF Board and the Andrew Lewis High School Class of 1968, I appreciate the incredible success of graduates of Salem City Schools and their contribution to our region and the nation. As the Board’s Membership Chair, It is important to me that our organization grow not only in number, but also in connection to the Salem educational community through our new website, online campaigns and other technology enhancements. To that end, I hope you’ll consider the following membership options available to you on this website:
Consider becoming a member of the Salem Educational Foundation. There is no financial commitment necessary and you do not need to be an alumnus to join. This simply recognizes you as being interested in the education of Salem’s youth and in being willing to spread the Foundation’s message, perhaps through social media, and to periodically check the website for news of our efforts to support our children.
If you would like to make a one-time or recurrent, sustaining contribution, consider becoming a sustaining member. Donations of $100 or less will fund the Foundation’s Operating Endowment, separate from its scholarship endowments, which permits the Foundation’s volunteer board to pay for minimal costs of operating and administrative support. Any amount donated in excess of $100 will fund two new Community Scholarships, one for a student seeking a 4 year degree and another to support a student seeking a career and technical education [CTE] scholarship. In this way, members of the community have an alternate way to contribute to endowing a scholarship.
Additionally, stay tuned for information on an upcoming Annual Giving Program that focuses attention on SEF’s missions and on increasing its endowments. Please join SEFAA if you’re not a member, and if you already donate and contribute regularly, thank you on behalf of Salem City students and our Board. We are grateful for your support.
