Timothy Craighead
Timothy Craighead graduated from Salem High School in 1981. He sang in the Chorale for his last three years and was an SCA representative all four years. Timothy served as vice president of Chorale and of his junior class, and secretary of his senior class. After graduating, he enrolled at James Madison University, where he double majored in finance and economics. In just three years, Timothy completed his B.B.A. degree and graduated valedictorian of his class, receiving additional recognition for his outstanding scholarship in finance and economics.
In 1987, Timothy earned an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago and launched a promising career at Goldman Sachs, where he is now Managing Director. He initially focused on U.S. Research Sales in Philadelphia and New York, then moved on to European Research Sales in 1999 and Global Equities Sales in London in 2001. He joined Investment Research to start a Global Themes initiative in 2004. Since 2006, Timothy has managed the Investment Review Committee process and research merchandising within the Americas Research Department. He also runs the Americas Conviction Buy List of Best Investment Ideas.
Timothy has served as an Elder at Wyoming Presbyterian Church, and he ran its annual fund from 1993-1994. He has served on the Executive Advisory Council of James Madison University’s College of Business, and he is currently a Foundation Board Member for the American School in London, whose annual fund he ran in 2003-2004. In his spare time, he has rock climbed and traveled extensively throughout Europe and the States.
Timothy and his wife, Debra, live in Short Hills, New Jersey. They have two children, Megan Elizabeth Craighead and Robert Macklin Craighead.
In recognition of his outstanding career achievements, Timothy Craighead is inducted into the 2008 Salem Alumni Hall of Fame established by the Salem Educational Foundation and Alumni Association.
