Sherrie Sandy Rollins graduated from Andrew Lewis High School in 1976.  She was not only breathtakingly beautiful but also very popular, quite intelligent, and participated in a broad range of scholastic activities.  These included:  Beta club, Yearbook Staff, Spanish Club, Varsity Cheerleader, Pep Club, Homecoming Court Princess, SODA, CSC and Home Room Representative.

In the fall of 1976 she entered the University of Virginia and in 1980 received a B. A. degree in Communications.

It was in 1981 that Sherrie accepted a position with Business and Professional Associates of Georgetown and was Executive Director in 1984 when she began working in media relations for the Reagan-Bush Campaign and the Republican National Convention.  Then, from 1985 to 1989, she was Vice President of Communications with Oliver Carr Company followed by appointment to Assistant Secretary of Public Affairs with the Department of Housing and Urban Affairs.  In 1990 she was named Director of News Information at ABC News and, in 1992, became a Senior White House Advisor to President George Bush, where she was Assistant to the President for Public Liaison and Intergovernmental Affairs.

Next came a move to U.S. News & World Report and The Atlantic Monthly as Senior Vice President from 1992 until 1994. In that position she was also Executive Producer of the U.S. News Television Debate Series.  In June of 1994, Sherrie rejoined the ABC Television Network as Senior Vice President for Network Communications and in, April 1996, was promoted to Executive Vice President, Network Communications.  In that capacity she oversees all communications activities for the ABC Television Network and each of its programming divisions:  ABC News, ABC Entertainment, ABC Sports, ABC Daytime, ABC Children’s Entertainment and ABC Late Night Entertainment.  She also has responsibility for managing the network’s Conference and Special Events Planning Department and reports directly to the President of ABC Television Network.

Currently, she serves on the Board of  Managers of the University of Virginia Alumni Association, the Board of Trustees of the American Council of Young Political Leaders, the Board of Directors of Cities in Schools and the Board of Visitors of the Institute of Political Journalism in Washington, D.C.

Sherrie is married to Ed Rollins, a national-recognized political analyst and best-selling author.  They reside in Bronxille, New York, with their daughter, Lily.

In recognition of her outstanding career achievements, Sherrie Sandy Rollins was among the charter members inducted into the Salem Alumni Hall of Fame established by the Salem Educational Foundation and Alumni Association in 1996.
