Anne Lee Stevens graduated from Andrew Lewis High School in 1967.  Active and popular, she was a member of the Pep Club and Junior Y Teens (serving one year as Recording Secretary of each), SCA House of Delegates, Homecoming Court, and Talent Show.  She was also a Home Room Treasurer, Vice President, Secretary-Treasurer and a Student Exchange Day Representative.  The Senior Mirror named her the “Friendliest.”

Attending Greenbrier College for Women, Anne Lee received an Associate in Arts degree and was a member of the Art Club, President of her sorority, and Treasurer of Panhellenic Council.  She also completed additional studies at the University of Maryland.

Entering the real estate field in 1977 as a Sales Associate with Waldrop Realty, Anne Lee advanced to Broker Associate in 1981 and to Executive Vice President, Residential Division in 1991.  It was in March 1995, that Anne Lee purchased half interest in Lemon & Lambdon REALTORS and with a partner, G. William Gearhart, Jr., formed Gearheart-Stevens, Inc.  As co-owner, she is a Broker and a Secretary-Treasurer.  The firm has sixteen licensed full time agents; nine were past sales award winners from the Roanoke Valley Association of REALTORS (RVAR) and four are in the top 1 percent in sales volume nationally. A member of RELO Relocation Services since 1988, Gearhart-Stevens has consistently ranked in the top five companies in the Roanoke Valley offering relocation services.  The company has also been in the fore-front of handling property sales for such prestigious residential developments as “The Hill” in Salem.

Professionally, Anne Lee is closely associated with RVAR and is a member of the following committees: Professional Standards and Arbitration, Nominating, and Realtor of the Year.  She is a past President, Vice President, and Board member of the organization and has chaired, or served as a member of, seven standing committees in addition to having been President of the Multiple Listing Service.  Also active with the Virginia Association of REALTORS, Anne Lee has been a Board member, Vice Chairman of Region IV and chaired or served on four standing committees.

Actively invlolved in community affairs, Anne Lee is President of the Roanoke Valley Economic Development Partnership, and has served as liaison to the Fifth Planning District Commission and the Roanoke Regional Chamber of Commerce.  She is also past President of the North Cross Alumni Association and currently a member of the North Cross School Board of Trustees, the Arts Museum of Western Virginia, Junior League of Roanoke, Roanoke College Associates and the Roanoke Country Club.  In the past she has served on the Board of TRUST Roanoke Valley Trouble Center, Bethany Hall, Junior League of Roanoke Valley, Mental Health Services of Roanoke Valley, Roanoke Valley Development Corporation, and Advisory Board of Youth Haven.  Her volunteer fund-raising efforts have included chairing the March of Dimes Walk-a-Thon for RVAR, co-chairing “Eighteen Holes for Habitat” for Habitat for Humanity, Pace Setter Campaign for United Way, American Heart Association, and Mothers Against Drunk Driving.

The contributions Anne Lee has made to her profession and to the Roanoke Valley have brought forth a number of honors including RVAR’s Volunteer of the Year, Realtor of the Year, President Meritorious Award, and Distinguished Service Award.  On the state level she received the Virginia Association of REALTORS Presidential Honor Board Award.  Residing in Salem, she is a member of the Salem Presbyterian Church, married to Peter A. Osataseski, and has one son, Peter A. Osataseski, Jr.

In recognition of her outstanding career achievements, Anne Lee Stevens was inducted in 1998 into the Salem Alumni Hall of Fame established by the Salem Educational Foundation and Alumni Association.
