Foundation History

A graduate of Andrew Lewis High School, Dr. Richard H. Fisher founded the Salem Educational Foundation and Alumni Association in 1983 as an educational non-profit corporation dedicated to developing private endowments to award scholarships to deserving graduates of Salem High School.

Along with six other charter members, Dr. Fisher led the Foundation as its President for the first 17 years.  The foundation gave two scholarships in 1984. The Foundation’s present endowment exceeds three million dollars and provides nearly 100 unique scholarships for deserving Salem High School seniors.
